New Year's

2011 is just around the corner :) I have been pondering the idea of a New Year's resolution and if I would like to make one. I, like many others, typically do not follow through with it. The top ten most popular New Year's resolutions are:
1) Spend more time with family and friends.
2) To get more fit with regular exercise.
3) Lose weight.
4) Quit smoking.
5) Enjoy life more.
6) Quit drinking.
7) Get out of debt.
8) Learn something new.
9) Help others more.
10) Get organized.

I would like to bypass a New Year's resolution and continue to devote myself to grow closer to God and work on Scripture memorization monthly. In reference to the list, I like numbers: 1,2,5,8,9, and 10. However, one person cannot do everything :) It's easier to set small goals and build on them rather than huge goals. I have this image of the perfect Christian young lady that I would like to be and it always seems unnatainable. God does not expect us to be perfect. I have to remember to give myself grace but strive to grow in different areas of my life.

semester one

I am done with my first semester of college. I had a great experience and I am anticipating the spring semester. I met a lot of new girlfriends that I expect to be life long friends (Kelsey, Bianca, Meghan, and Raven). The classes were a real "eye-opener". They were nothing like highschool courses and in some classes 2 exams made up the entirety of my grade. I got my exam grades back and I qualify for Dean's list. Not too shabby :) The main academic flaw I possess is procrastination.
